Mitchell Harper

Mitchell Harper is a freelance curator, cultural programmer, and project manager from South Africa specializing in the arts in areas of film and across the artistic spectrum. He has been involved in the film festival industry for 8 years, he is the Durban FilmMart’s Industry Programme Curator, and co-curated the industry programme for the Durban Film Mart (2019 & 2020). From 2014-2017 Assistant Film Festival Manager, and served as Feature Fiction programmer for the 2020 edition. He co-founded ENGAGE, a Pan-African Think Tank aimed to create and to foster continental networks, with activities at Durban Film Mart, Toronto International Film Festival , 10th African International Film Festival, and European Film Mart

He is the producer of the short documentary Deliver Me (2021) and Womxn Working, he is a member of Programmers of Colour Collective, a judge of the Durban leg of the 48hr Film Challenge (2015), a project reader for Realness Institute(2019 -2021), and programmes such as Locarno Pro: Under 30 and NFVF’s SEDIBA producer’s programme.
